maybe money doesn’t exist as it does now but they still have some form of credit system especially since the rest of the quadrant seems to have currency like how can this economy be sustained what about the colonies on terraformed moons and planets or whatever it’s not like they have natural resources so they have to receive aid in the form of imported goods like
